Chapter 57 – Everything Has An Expiration Date

Lisa's POV

I eventually end up not falling asleep. It was an impossible task to accomplish, especially with how Jonas was driving like he had gone nuts. We weren't necessarily involved in a car chase given that Jonas had managed to put a fair amount of distance between us. I turned back and squinted, trying to pick out the headlights of any car behind us, but I couldn't see any. The head start had worked in our favor. A few minutes later, Jonas began to slow down the car, leaving me perplexed. Had the car developed a particular fault? That would put a dent in our plans if that was the case. The car eventually came to a complete stop and the light inside the car came on, illuminating the interior of the car.
