A Promise

SARAH'S POV

Charles left immediately after he escorted me to our apartment's doorstep. I got in, changed into comfy clothes and decided to prepare dinner or brunch, whatever it was. Getting to the kitchen, I realized there weren't enough ingredients for the meal I wanted to prepare.

I sighed out of annoyance and left home with the black card. The grocery store I went to the first time was the nearest to the apartment complex so I ended up going there.

The moment I stepped in, one of the attendants walked up to me immediately.

"Welcome ma'am, what would you like to get? Do you have a list? You can just give it to me, I will bring you everything." The lady said. I had seen her the last time I came but I never had an interaction with her and of course, her behaviour was weird. It was quite obvious that she was out of her character.

"I will just...get them myself." I replied to her. The generosity was just on a different level. And I did not want it.
