If You Bore Me

Once the list was made, Esther raised the paper in her hand and showed it to him. Those eyes of hers held anticipation as she watched him go over them.

The corner of Asher’s lips twitched. This girl was really a coward.

Then, he pointed out, “What about dogs?”

This made Esther nervously fidget her fingers and turn to look the other way. A sudden guilt overcame her at his tone, and she mumbled, “Dogs are too scary.”

“Aren’t you being too insincere then? Are you meaning to tell me that you will abandon me for a dog?”

The teasing tone in his voice made Esther’s heart flutter. This moment felt very much wholesome to her, and she wanted for this to continue.

She stared at him straight and confessed, “I really like you a lot. I would never abandon you, but the dogs are a bit, uhm… Don’t worry! Whenever I see a dog, I will run away, taking you along with me.”
