Suddenly, there were shattering sounds coming from the room. Luciana’s heart dropped. She hurriedly pushed the door open and saw the broken glass cup under Aunt Loren’s feet. She walked over and bent down to pick up the glass fragments. “Aunt Ren, are you thirsty? Sit down, I’ll clean this up and pour for—” Before she could finish her sentence, Aunt Ren grabbed onto her wrist, her expression blank. “Lulu.”

“What’s wrong?” Luciana raised her head and looked at her best friend's mom. The way she said her pet name sounded like a plea and it broke her heart.

Loren seemed confused; she grabbed Lucie’s hand tighter.

“My baby girl, Can you find her?

She probably just went to get some chocolate right? Maybe she went to that store across town but she will be back soon. I know it."
