Layla's POV

When I jumped in between him and Henry, he was shocked over my actions but he wasn't the only one who was fazed by my actions. Henry was surprised as well and so was I. I might be restricted by chains but I will never let anyone get hurt in place of me. Henry did something no one has ever done for me ever since I stepped foot in the pack, he stood up for me and challenged the Alpha and I sincerely appreciated all that he did.

However, I couldn't just let him fight Chase, he was going to kill him, I saw it by the corner of his eyes. No matter how this turns out to be, Chase is a ruthlessly Alpha who has no heart and doesn't show mercy so he won't fail to give Henry a slow yet painful death. Henry was willing to sacrifice everything and that included his life but that wasn't my plan. I couldn't let him do that, the consequences were devastating, I couldn't just sit and watch while one of the very few who cared about me died.
