Miles and I had to help Mick with shifting back, having him feel me through the bond as I did it while Miles explained the theory of it. Rome was frustrating him while trying to explain how to do it, and Mick ended up calling him a parasite and telling him to shut up.

I was amused. Cameron never let me in at all, so I have no clue how his communication was with Rome, but Mick and Rome are hilarious. The insults were golden, but you could still feel Rome’s sense of protectiveness towards his new human. Mick wasn’t used to the foreign feeling of having to share a mind with a wolf, but I could feel his acceptance and anxious excitement.

“The moon feels good,” Mick leaned his head back, absorbing the last of the moon’s rays before the sun completely overtook the sky. “I never noticed before.”

“It’s your wolf,” Miles smiled at his brother. “Our goddess is the goddess of the moon for a reason.”

Mick was quiet, looking at the moonlight as Rome reflected in his eyes. “I have a wolf.”
