I walked down the hallway and Vanessa followed behind me.

I took a right around the corner and down a flight of stairs.

This floor was empty too.

Vanessa was nervously biting her lip and her hands were stretched out like she was walking in darkness, afraid to trip over something or that someone would jump out on her.

”You’re freaking me out,” she said when she saw me staring and her eyes widened.

Everything was exactly how it had been, the carpeting, the colors, the door, nothing had changed but where were all the people?

”Honestly-” I turned back around and rolled back my shoulders as I kept walking.

”-I’m pretty freaked out too,”

I heard footsteps coming from the first floor and I froze. I slowly leaned over the railing and looked down. I saw a few people walking by.

There was a window on the other side of the hall overlooking the back of the house so I took quick steps there and leaned against the window.
