Chapter Twenty-Eight

Eliana's Pov

I watched Noah through hooded eyes as he made calls to Val and Mia, telling them I was safe and we were on our way to the Villa. My body shivered from both the cold and the fear of bloodthirsty men who couldn't handle rejection from a girl. My body hurts from being slammed violently on the wall and my face swollen from the punches I endured.

Noah had been glancing at me from the steering wheel, his grip tight as he manoeuvred the car. He was mad. Everything spelt anger. The clenching and unclenching of his jaw, the anger in his eyes, the sharp intake of breath and the death grip he had on the steering wheel.

If we were in a cartoon, he would have steam coming out of his ears.

"I'm sorry I didn't find you earlier." He whispered loud enough for me to hear. I recognised the look on his face. Regret.

I adjusted in my seat to find the position that won't hurt as much as this one did. "That's okay, I'm glad you did."
