Chapter 5: The Plan

Lizelle's Point of View

Before I fainted, I heard the monitor's beeping noise and flashing color. They slowly lay me down and injected something before my eyelids slowly fell off. Tyron was the last person I saw, standing in a corner with a serious yet somewhat worried face.

I woke up in a white room. I could see nothing but white around me.

'Where am I?'

'How many hours of sleep have I had?'

When I arose from my slumber, the thing I tread on was likewise white and fluffy. I paid close attention to where someone was laughing.

I approached carefully at first since I couldn't see their faces. As I arrived, I saw two people chuckling. One of them was wearing a white dress and a white flower crown, while the man dressed all in white. When they spotted me, they both stopped and smiled.

My eyes widened as I realized who those are.

"Mom! Dad!" I ran to hug them and cried. "Mom! Dad! Let's go home!"

I didn't remove the embrace from them. Nevertheless, it gradually surprised me when the surrounding became dark.

Out of surprise, I let go of the hug to look at them... but I only pushed them away when I discovered their burnt faces and bloody bodies. I sat up and crawled backward when they slowly approached me.

"No! Stooop!"

I woke up while recovering my breath.

When I opened my eyes, I noticed a white ceiling; I wasn't sure if it was real, so I was about to turn around and stand up when I suddenly felt excruciating pain on my body and face.

"Agh...! It burns!"

My face appeared to be ripped apart as my body was stabbed with a knife. I was already in tears when a voice spoke to my side.

"You've been asleep for two and a half days. You're probably not used to the painful needles being injected into you. Only the hose feeds you for two days."

It's Tyron.

I would have attempted to respond, but I couldn't open my mouth, so only "Ah" came out. He realized I might want to speak out, so he offered me a pen and paper.

He was perhaps asking me to write about what I wanted to say.

"You are welcome to remain for up to a month. Don't worry; the soreness will lessen with each passing day." He got to his feet and moved before me so I could see him.

While they placed the bandage around my face, I could feel the oversized medical cloth wrapped around my chest. My face made me feel better, as did the severe torment in my chest. Because I lacked strength, I wrote on paper and gently pushed it on him.

"What are our next steps following this? Why does it take a month to plan?" That was what it said on the paper. As he stood, he read it with his eyes.

"Just rest first. After a week, you'll return to your condo. I'll introduce Lorenzo Lewis." He handed me the paper and pen again, but I had nothing further to say.

Lorenzo Lewis… Although I wanted to ask who it was, I kept myself silent.

The days flew by since Tyron was the only one who looked after me; even after I returned home from the condo, he would always come back. Sometimes he slept in my living room to help me. The discomfort was virtually gone two weeks later, and he revealed who Lorenzo Lewis was.

I was surprised to see two whiteboards with wheels. Tyron placed it in my room to make it appear like we were investigators and assassins who needed to murder someone. Lorenzo, his parents, and his brothers' information was on the whiteboard, plus their faces.

Lorenzo's accomplishments as CEO of Mètier Group were also there.

"Lorenzo built the second building in New York, the Mètier Group. He was known as the second business tycoon. He had many achievements because he can sell his business partners— that's where he got his power. After two years, he started building construction business in Barcelona." He now pointed to the picture of my parents. "He was one of the primary suspects because your parents refused him to be a business partner."

My forehead furrowed. "Wait, what? Isn't his focus on construction? Why was even our sugarcane plant affected?"

"You're mistaken. He isn't interested in your sugarcane. He intends to steal your Madrid property that he wishes to purchase to construct his new building." He pointed to the photographs.

"We have no land in Madrid…"

"That's what you know. With the number of resources you have, do you think that your parents only make a living from sugarcane?" He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.

"But everything you own is currently on hold in court. Lorenzo propagated the rumor that everything you had was stolen, and they likewise acquitted him since he stated he wasn't guilty." That was the last thing he said before he ripped the photos off.

I gripped my fist as I gritted my teeth. I was foolish for being naive. Millions of emotions lurk in my heart, but I couldn't find a way to show them. The rage, madness, and sadness…

"You want vengeance, I'll give you my support."

I stared at him while the anger still lingered in my eyes. I didn't know how to bring Lorenzo down, honestly. I had no money to use.

"You may take off the bandage on your face next week." He erased what was written on the whiteboard, and something about what he scribbled before he spoke made me grin.

"And to our plan...."
