32 - Proposal

Mr. Thomas Martin's expression shifted from surprise to frustration as he noticed his personal diary in his daughter Genevieve's hands. He lowered his book and spoke in a hushed but stern voice, trying to maintain his composure.

"Why did you steal my diary, Genevieve? I am asking you something. Answer me. Give it back, sweetheart," he said, his tone carrying a mix of anger and concern.

Genevieve, still panting from her run and clearly disturbed by what she had read, hesitated for a moment. She knew she had crossed a line by taking her father's diary without permission, but she also felt compelled to confront him about the contents she had discovered.

"Dad, I'm sorry, but I had to know," she whispered, her eyes filled with worry. "What I read in here... it's about her, isn't it? Is she really back?"
