Chapter 31: couples fight

The benefits of being in a fight with your dad meant that he wasn’t grounded and he could get drunk with his friends.

He spent the night with Derrick instead of going home and to say things had been a little awkward between them was an understatement.

Derrick wasn’t ready to talk to him and he couldn’t force him despite how much he wanted to pin him down and get it out of him.

Jordan wanted to know all of them but speaking about the past was difficult in any case. During the night he woke up in his arms and chose to watch him sleep like a creeper.

There was a soft almost vulnerable expression on his face when he slept and he wanted to see it forever. He wanted to help him, be there for him, and help him move on from what he was hiding so well. Ever since that day months ago his nightmares were few and few.
