Chapter 61.

Destinee POV.

Opening my eyes slowly, I squint and close my eyes again. The sunlight is bright and my eyes feel like sandpaper. I turn and burrow under the quilt in order so I can open my eyes.

The side of the bed is empty and cold. Titus hasn’t been here for a while. I feel weak. The events from the past few weeks are taking a toll on me.

Rolling over and pulling the quilt away from my face, I blink, allowing my eyes to adjust to the brightness in the room.

I don’t want to get up but I have to; I need to see the survivors and find out what they know about the rogue’s movements.

Sitting up, I yawn and stretch, pulling the quilt back and shuffle to the edge of the bed and stand. Titus must have changed me because I’m in one of his shirts.

I have to prepare for the Alpha ceremony, which will take place next week and I haven’t done anything to prepare for it. I’m not one for big parties. The thought makes me cringe.
