Chapter Forty-Six

Vanessa's POV

My eyes had begun to close, sleep almost surrounding me, allowing me to forget that I was pregnant and a small child was in front of me.

Ben snuggled up closer to me, I had just finished reading him a bedtime story and he was about to fall asleep. His small breaths became more rigid as he started to cry out for help.

"Mommy, please don't leave me!" Tears started to fall his sleeping face, his small chubby face was filled with pain. He was scared I would leave him as his actual mother did.

"Ben, baby I'm not going anywhere, I won't leave." I tried to calm him down the best way I could.

I woke up to an empty bed, Demetrius' side was cold as if he never came home. But he did only he didn't sleep beside me. He sat in the chair across from our bed and watched me the whole night. That's how most of my night went.
