The Billionaire Bride of Destiny 01

"Cathy! Why can't you ever get my mask ready in time? Don't you know that I'm going to a banquet hosted by Mrs. Lanyon tonight? Do you want to see me make a fool of myself at the banquet?"

Cathy was in her mother-in-law's checkroom preparing her dress for tonight as well as her necklace, when she heard her mother-in-law's shrill voice, Cathy couldn't help but sigh, put down the necklace in her hand, and hurriedly walked towards the kitchen to prepare the cucumber mask that her mother-in-law needed.

"I'll be ready in a minute." Cathy replies loudly as she walks away.

Cathy arrived at the kitchen, and the maid Milah handed her a silver tray with a cucumber mask.

"Thank you, Milah, you've been a great help!" Cathy felt very happy and smiled as she thanked her.

Milah looked helpless, she was always at a loss for this young master, she could call on the servants as she pleased but she always preferred to do things herself.

"My Lady, you don't have to be so polite all the time, we all know she likes to give you a hard time, so you can rely on us more for these little things," Milah whispered as she followed Cathy, "You're kind, you're never hard on us, and we're all happy to work for you. "

"I know, I just thought I could do it so I didn't ask for your help. But I really appreciate you today, without your help, it might have taken me a little longer."Cathy carefully carried the tray up the stairs and smiled when she heard Milah's words.

Milah looks at Cathy's back and remembers when Cathy was first married three years ago.

At that time, Cathy was not at all used to the life of a luxurious family, and she had to do everything by herself, such as cooking, washing clothes, sweeping the floor, and so on.

This also caused Cathy's mother-in-law, old Mrs. Lewis to look down on her even more for being from a poor background. Old Mrs. Lewis thought that Cathy must have done something to her son, Kevin Lewis, so old Mrs. Lewis insisted that Cathy come to serve her, and she wanted to see what kind of tricks Cathy was up to.

For the last three years, therefore, Cathy had suffered daily from the insults and scoldings of old Mrs. Lewis, who kept on accusing Cathy and harping on and on in a way that made all the servants feel annoyed, but Cathy had borne it every day.

During this high-pressure life, Cathy was still able to smile every day and never lose her temper with the servants, she even chatted and joked with them without being condescending at all, which made the servants love her and were all happy to serve her, and they all did what they could to help Cathy lessen her burdens and lessen old Mrs. Lewis's scolding, like Milah did. For Cathy these gestures were still effective, old Mrs. Lewis didn't scold her constantly at all times as she had done in the beginning, which made Cathy feel a lot more relaxed.

Cathy herself did feel sad in the beginning for several reasons mixed in, for example, the fact that she didn't know when she fell in love with Kevin Lewis that his family was so prominent (although the Lewis family was only middle class, it's pretty impressive for orphans), and she flet a bit intimidated and out of sorts about Kevin's family.

In addition to the disparity in family background, there was also the lack of understanding from Kevin's family and friends, who thought that Cathy was only marrying Kevin because of money, so they always looked down on her and made fun of her.

Kevin, on the other hand, thought his friends were joking, and therefore never paid any attention to the mocking remarks. For his mother's insults and scolding of his wife, he also thought that if Cathy endures long enough, her mother would naturally learn about her good qualities, and so Cathy would have to keep putting up with it.

She felt that with enough time, Kevin's family and friends would know that she married Kevin out of love. Cathy could only slowly adjust her mindset. As long as she had Kevin's love, there was nothing else that she couldn't overcome, and Cathy endured for three years with that thought in mind.

Cathy couldn't help but smile at the thought of her husband, Kevin, and although the people around them didn't think much of their relationship, Cathy knew that their previous relationship was genuine. The scene when they first met Cathy feels like it's still fresh in her mind, she feels like a romantic love drama.

They met on a breezy spring day, Kevin picked up Cathy's sketchbook, Cathy turned back to look for her sketchbook and found Kevin looking at her drawings, the moment Kevin looked up at her, Cathy felt what it meant to be stirred. Kevin was undoubtedly handsome, his face was the most perfect, gentle kind, with long, dense eyelashes and dark, bright, gentle, smiling eyes that had a mesmerizing charm.

She felt that the moment had become so long, the sunshine and the breeze were all so wonderful. The moment they laid eyes on each other, Cathy was sure they both knew that it wasn't a 'meeting', it was 'meant to be'.

So they fell in love, Kevin was a gentleman and polite, and every date made Cathy even more convinced that Kevin was the one. And Kevin is smitten with her, too.

They've only been in a relationship for a week, and Kevin couldn't wait to tell his friends about their relationship, taking her in and out of parties hosted by various friends and confidently introducing her to all of them.

After being in a relationship for 4 months, Kevin then chartered a fancy restaurant for his proposal to her, Kevin brought all his friends and they all came together to bless and have fun with their proposal.

Cathy was crying tears of joy, no one had ever done such a surprise for her before and she felt she could do anything for the happiness of the moment.

So even though a lot of things weren't as good as she thought they would be after they got married, she was convinced that as long as Kevin loved her then nothing could bring them down.
