Ryan's tone shifted to one of empathy. "I understand, Ethan. Sometimes people change, and not always for the better. But tell me, what do you think her motives were this time?"

Ethan's voice lowered, a tinge of sadness lacing his words. "I did some digging, Ryan. It turns out Nathalie's career was in jeopardy, and she needed money desperately. That's why she wanted me back it was all about the funds."
