29- His Demand.

I know I should lash out at him or maybe I should bolt away from this damn room. He is being absurd, totally so. But his eyes hold the seriousness that is needed to convince me that he isn't joking. I find myself breaking into a fit of laughter like a total maniac.

“You…You are hilarious.” I say after a long while, trying my best to speak through my laughing fit.

His dark gaze falls on me, examining me with boundless curiosity. He has his hands under his chin, appearing to be in a pensive mood. Eventually, I stop laughing like a mad man as the seriousness of the situation sets in. Realization hits me hard. He isn't joking. He is deadly serious.

“You can't be serious.” I mumble under my breath, too afraid to raise my voice.

His arched brow lets me know that he is enjoying this. Of course he is.

“But I'm serious.” He replies in his deep raspy voice. “I want you in exchange for keeping your secret a secret.” He sends chills down my spine with that one sentence.
