Chapter 32 – Unexpected Visit

Mel did have the same thoughts initially, so she can understand the old man’s reaction. Who knows if he’ll change his mind, though? She feels a little awkward about it. Lover, huh? Well, yes. That’s what she currently is to Klyde. Bed partner is the term he used, but it’s practically the same.

That night, she doesn’t feel like doing anything with him. She didn’t go to his room and simply laid on her own bed. She couldn’t sleep, though. Mel isn’t exactly bothered but for some reason, sleep eluded her.

When Klyde didn’t see her in his room, he let it go. He’s tired, too. He worked during the remainder of his day and finished most of his backlog. There’s still tomorrow.

When they saw each other at breakfast, it was indeed awkward. Mel was glad he didn’t bring up her absence last night.

“So, what’s the plan?” She asked when they’re done eating.

He raised an
