Chapter 38 – Discomfort

A few days passed and every time Mel would try to turn the knob on his study, it’s still locked. She would pout but she never asked him directly. She asked the maids and she ascertained that he hasn’t brought another woman to bed.

She didn’t do it quietly, so every time she does it, Klyde knows who exactly it was trying to barge in. At the end of that week, he made a decision. It’s not working anyway.

For a while, it became a habit to Mel. Every time she goes to the kitchen to get something, she would try to turn that knob. She was surprised when she finally pushed it open again.

“Oh, look.” She grinned and was feeling mischievous. She only stuck her head inside the door. Spotting Klyde on his usual spot, she greeted him loudly, in a somewhat sing-song voice.

“Hello! Did you forget to lock your door today? Do you want me to lock it for you?”
