Chapter 6: It begins

The very second we entered the room, where Andrew was, Veronica left my side to wrap her little brother in her arms. “How are you doing today?”

“Great! I convinced the nurses to get me ice cream.” The kid beamed at Veronica, like she was his favorite person in the world.

“Ice cream for breakfast? You know that isn’t good for you.” Veronica scolded him, even though she didn’t sound mad.

“Well then, that sounds much better. Is Lily still here?” She asked him, sitting next to him on the bed.

“She said she had to go get some coffee and that she would be right back.” Andrew said, his eyes adverting to where I still stood by the door. “Who is he?”
