Chapter five

Clara exited Alexandro's VIP ward, overwhelmed and perplexed. She attempted to comprehend what had occurred and why he had chosen her to be his bride.

Alexandro's brother approached her as she paced, lost in contemplation.

Clara's heart was racing as she tried to control her anger. She couldn't believe that Micheal was denying any involvement in Andrew's condition. Her mind was clouded with suspicion and doubt.

"I don't believe you," she repeated, her voice trembling with emotion. "You have always been jealous of Andrew, and I know you had issues with him running the family business."

Micheal's expression hardened. "That's not true, Clara," he replied, his voice cold. "I have no interest in his businesses or his life. Why would I want to harm my cousin?"

Clara was about to respond when her phone rang, interrupting their conversation. It was an unknown number.

"Hello?" she answered hesitantly.

"Clara Alexandro?" a male voice asked.

"Yes, who is this?" she replied, her heart racing.

"It's me, John," the voice said. "Alexandro's friend."

"Oh, John," Clara exclaimed, feeling relieved. "How is he? Have you heard anything?"

"I'm afraid not, Clara," John said, his voice heavy with concern. "But there is something important that I need to tell you. It's about Alexandro."

Clara listened carefully as John spoke, her mind racing with questions and suspicions. When he finished, she hung up the phone, her head spinning.

"What did he say?" Micheal asked, his tone curious.

"He said that Alexandro was involved in something dangerous," she replied, her voice trembling with emotion. "Something that could put his life in danger."

Henry's expression changed, and he looked at Clara with concern. "What are you going to do?"

"I don't know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I have to find out what's going on. I have to protect Alexandro, no matter what."

As Clara walked out of the hospital room, she couldn't help but feel like her life was spiraling out of control. Between her husband's mysterious coma, the looming threat of danger, and now Micheal's sudden reappearance, she didn't know how much more she could handle.

She made her way to the hospital lobby, hoping to catch her breath and clear her head. But as she walked through the automatic doors, she froze in her tracks.

Standing just a few feet away from her was a figure she recognized all too well - the man who had been following her since the wedding the same man she had a conversation with. He wore a dark suit and a fedora, his face obscured by the shadows.

Clara's heart raced as she realized she was in danger. She turned to run, but it was too late. The man grabbed her by the arm and pulled her into a nearby stairwell, his grip tight and unforgiving.

"Who are you?" Clara gasped, trying to free herself from his grasp.

The man said nothing, but his eyes bore into hers with a fierce intensity. Clara could feel his breath on her face, hot and menacing.

As she struggled to break free, she caught a glimpse of something in the man's hand - a glint of metal. It was a knife.

Clara's heart pounded in her chest as she realized the gravity of the situation. She was trapped, alone with a dangerous stranger who had no intention of letting her go.

Just as she was about to scream for help, the man leaned in close and whispered something in her ear. His voice was low and menacing, his breath hot on her skin.

"Your husband isn't the only one on their death list," he hissed. "And you're next."

The man gave her a reassuring smile and said, "I'm here to help you, Mrs. Alexandro. Your husband made arrangements for your safety in case anything ever happened to him."

Clara hesitated, unsure if she could trust this stranger. But the paparazzi were closing in, and she had nowhere to turn.

She got into the car, and as it sped away, she couldn't help but wonder what other secrets Alexandro had kept from her.

As they drove away, the man turned to her and said, "I have some information that you need to know, Mrs. Alexandro. Your husband's businesses are not the only thing at stake here."

Clara's heart raced as she listened to the man's ominous words.

"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice trembling.

The man looked at her gravely and said, "There are people who will stop at nothing to get their hands on what Alexandro had. They will come after you, Mrs. Alexandro. You need to be careful."

Clara's mind raced with questions. Who were these people? What did they want? And most importantly, why was Alexandro keeping all of this from her?

As the car pulled up to a luxurious mansion, Clara realized that she was in for the fight of her life. She was determined to protect what was hers, even if it meant going up against powerful and dangerous people.

But she couldn't do it alone. She needed to find out the truth about her husband's past, and she needed to do it fast.
