Chapter Sixteen: A trip down memory lane

Rose’s POV

My eyes were still fixed on the note as I read it over and over again, with the words floating around my head, feeding my anger. I couldn’t believe he’d cheat on his girlfriend and go as far as purchasing another sub from an auction when his lover was away.

I was still staring at the note when the door suddenly opened and my gaze snapped to it to see him standing there, his eyes narrowed at me and a small frown marring his face. He took a step forward and I rose to my feet, with the note and pictures still clutched in my hands.

“Rosie?” he called in a questioning tone. If I wasn’t angry that I’d been the other woman he was cheating on his girlfriend with, I could have found it ridiculous that he had such impeccable acting skills, with the concerned look on his face as though he wasn’t a devil from hell, a wolf in sheep's clothes.
