Chapter 21: Work with me

The buzzing sound of her alarm woke her up, she turned to where the sound came from and turned off the alarm. Khloe stretched her arms and legs before getting up to head to the bathroom, where she did her business and had her bath. Determined, she was set to go to work to conquer what life would throw at her and to solve all mysteries, including finding Mark's true identity by all means.

“I'll be off to work in no time,” she said to Kelly who came down for breakfast.

“So, you and Brandon. How has it been?” Kelly started, a smile curling up to her face in the form of a grimace.

“Yeah, we're getting along pretty well. Turns out he's here to help the business grow,” she said, cutting a piece of meat with her cutlery and putting it in her mouth.

“Are you sure? Because with what I heard yesterday, you guys seem closer than just friends,” Kelly added, squinting her eyelids.

“It's not like that, Kelly. And where did you hear it.”
