Chapter 25: “Ethan,” Khloe muttered.

After the text messages from Arthur the previous night, Khloe Ferguson couldn't help but keep thinking about it over and over again. His text messages brighten her day, and she prayed it would continue. Her mind kept replaying it like a movie at the shower, even over breakfast.

“What's making you smile all of a sudden?” Kelly, her elder sister asked. They both sat at the dining table where food was served.

“Nothing. I just had a nice dream,” Khloe tried brushing off the question.

“Are you sure? Because it looks like your face is going to burst from overheating,” she said, gesturing Khloe's swollen cheeks.

“My face? What do you mean by that?” Khloe said, touching her face. She had blushed so hard that her face turned red.

“It's just a mere… uh…” Khloe tried coming up with an excuse but failed and Kelly saw through the lie.

“Cat caught your tongue, huh? Just don't. You suck at lying. I know you're seeing someone, don't let him break your heart like that son of a bit**h did to me,
