Steph had slept in early after she got back from the date. She didn’t meet Mia in as she had texted her earlier that she wanted to finish up something at work and so, Steph shouldn’t bother staying up for her.

Steph woke up quiet early mostly due to the repeated beeping of her phone.

She rolled to the next side of the bed and picked up her phone. It was her mum.

She sat up well in bed and picked the call.

“Hey mum,” she said.

“Hey my dear, how are you doing?”

“Very well mum.”

“Sorry I haven’t reached out. So many things have been going on,” Steph explained.

Her relationship with her mum had grown closer than it used to be. She was glad that was better and was always now looking forward to spending more time with her.

“Are you going to be home anytime soon?” She asked her

“I think I want to stay with Mia for a while. Her roommate is out of town and I think I need the company too,” she explained.
