“Great job, Quinn! Have you had any experience with shooting?”

I handed back the gun to Reeve. I felt much more confident this time. I was frightened when I held his firearm earlier, but Xavion’s face flashed in my mind. I recalled his advice, which helped me stay strong.

“Yes. I was brought here by Xavion, who also taught me how to handle a firearm.”

“Oh, really? That’s unexpected of him,” he said while shaking his head and packing all the gear.

“Is it okay for me to ask you about something?” I swallowed hard.

I’ve been meaning to do this, but I am holding myself. Reeve is the only person that is approachable and friendly towards me. I can open up to him quickly, but not to Xavion. I’m too scared to open at him as I don’t want him to misjudge me.

“Sure. Ask me about anything, and I will do my best to answer your request.” He winked and continued what he was doing. I was following him.

"Uhm, a-about Xavion?"

He stops and faces me. “Hmm, what about him?”
