Chapter 62: Give me a chance to explain

After much persuasion, Kiandra managed to get Jeremy to go home. He only did so after promising that he would come back the next day.

“You should get going,” Kiandra then said to Samantha.

“There’s no way I’m leaving you and Zendaya in this state,” Samantha said.

“The doctor already said Zendaya won't regain her consciousness today and so you don’t need to worry. Besides, you have to work in the morning,” Kiandra pointed out.

“I’ll take a few days' leave to take care of you and Zendaya,” Samantha resolved.

“You should know that I won’t allow you to do that,” Kiandra sighed. “Besides, Lucas’ father is already taking care of the well-being of Zendaya,” she told Samantha.

“Do you trust him?” she asked.

“Honestly, I don’t know but for now, I need his influence so my daughter can get the best care. And besides, he’s already footing her medical expenses and that alone is already more than enough help to me,” Kiandra stated.
