Chapter One hundred and seven

The first golden rays of dawn filtered through the window past the thin curtains of her room at the inn, casting a glow upon the lady's face sprawled on the bed, causing her eyes to slowly blink awake. A slight moan escaped her lips as her body contorted into the blanket that she snuggled into, and her arms suspended in the air to stretch and crack out her sore bones.

The first thought that occurred to her as she took time to savor in the serenity of the surroundings, and listen to the faint chirping of birds outside which made nature come alive, was how she had not slept for many days since she arrived at the inn. Last night, the kind old innkeeper had offered her a cup of tea and it worked like magic.

Carefully, she lifted her body off the bed, swung her legs over the side of the bed, her bare feet touching the cool wooden floor, and took a deep breath before she rose on her feet and made her way to the small window to push it open.

She took a few minutes standing by the win
