Chapter Twenty Eight

Carlton returned to his room with heavy concerns bothering his heart, as he replayed the scene of he and Stacy in the pool, and his apology to her. The spark he felt in his heart was undeniable, but he wasn't sure if she took the situation well or if she felt anything.

Though he had planned it several times in his head, he didn't expect that he would apologize in that kind of awkward and tension-filled situation.

'Did he not choose his words well? Did her silence mean affirmation? Was she truly never going to give him any chance to make up for his mistakes, since she kept mentioning that it was all in the past? Did he sound unconvincing?' Carlton wondered endlessly in his mind, as he tried to grasp the situation of what her silence meant. The fear of losing her again and of irreparably damaging their connection, gnawed at his soul and left him with the feeling of helplessness.
