Chapter 24: The Spark In His Eyes

Ajax Steel’s Point of View

Pulling over my car in the backyard was easy. Contrary to other garages, it’s too tight for someone to park their cars at home in a tight space, unlike in our place.

I went inside the house by myself as I saw a handsome little boy sitting on the sofa, drinking his milk while eating his breakfast. His smile grew when he saw me; his expression was anticipating and he couldn’t believe I was here.

"Hey there, bud," I greeted as I carried my son up.

He giggled and said, "Dad!"

Andre was staying with his grandmother. As I’ve said, he couldn’t stay with me, and my mother prefers having him around to reduce her stress and still function each day.

Having a son without a spouse wasn’t hard at all. I can raise him up, provide for his needs, and give him everything he wants. Andre is my smart son. Since he was a kid, my mother has been teaching him a lot of numbers, and I’m proud to say he was the top one in his class now that he’s already a kindergartener.
