Chapter 35

DAWN

Morning comes faster than I'm ready for it. I rub the sleep from my eyes as I feel Kyle move away, and the pressure on my side of the mattress shifts. I run my hands at his vacant spot while my eyes adjust to the incoming light through the long windows in our bedroom.

I feel him lean in as I close my eyes again. His fingers run through my hair as I yawn.

"We are going to get late, Dawn. I'm heading off to shower. You can shower after me."

Without opening my eyes, I nod and toss under the duvet.

"Would you like to shower before I do?" Then I can feel him smiling. "Or join me?"

I grab a pillow from his side of the bed and shove it lightly against his bare abs.

"Just go and shower."

"All right, babe." He chuckles. "I'll be out in no time."

"Maybe I'll cook breakfast while you shower."

Shaking his head, he opposes the idea.
