It was about half an hour later when Lilly was sound asleep, her breathing even. Chan was deep within her own world, describing the story as she would write it, and she didn’t realize Lilly had fallen asleep or that Sam was standing at the door, his manly build leaning against the frame, his arms folded across his chest as he listened to her soft, gentle voice telling a tale of adventure and realm travel.

“Thanks for doing that,” Sam said, his voice making Chan jolt in her spot.

She turned her gaze to the door, and once she realized that Sam was there, she blushed hot on the cheeks. Suddenly feeling both embarrassed and shy, she asked, “How long have you been standing there?”
