Chapter 13: Coincidence

"So, how's the first date?" Eunice asked me when I got home.

After I got home earlier, I found that she and Agatha were here too. My daughter's energy seems to have run out because she is fast asleep on the sofa.

"What first date are you talking about? That wasn't a date!" I disagreed with her question.

I could see Eunice's scornful look at me, which is why I just shook my head at her. I just arranged the food I bought earlier for our dinner on the table.

"So, where did you go? Share what you accomplished today!" Eunice insisted.

I know I can't escape her questions, and I always tell her stories, so that's fine.

"We had fine dining for lunch, then we just had coffee at Starbucks," I replied to her.

"Oh my gosh! You're fine dining and then you say it's not a date? Come on, Kali. You can't fool me!" she said one after the other to tease me.

I got tired and sat there before speaking.

"Yeah, you can tell it's a date, but for me it's not. It was just a normal day to hang out with a friend,
