Lux left Katy inside the café while he was in the smoking area, contemplating what to do about his sister. He had no contact with her, not even a phone number.

“Sir Lux?”

“Uhm?” He answered Heart on the other end of the line. He called her because he was tired of texting and needed someone to talk to. He felt stressed when Katy arrived in Manila.

“I thought you were gone,” Heart chuckled slightly, which made him smile too.

“I’m just a bit disoriented,” he admitted, “She doesn’t want to call Elisa. She doesn’t want to go back to Cebu. Does she expect me to take care of her?”

“Maybe that’s why she came to you.”

“She’s afraid her father will hurt her. Damn. What is Elisa doing to allow her father to hurt her?”

“Wait, sir. Who is Elisa? You’ve been mentioning Elisa. I’m confused. Katy is your sister, and her father isn’t your father. Is Elisa your mother?”
