Heart smiled at Vandros as he escorted her to the condo. He assisted her to the elevator, but they had to stop when Enrico appeared. The man’s face lit up with a smile when he saw her, but Vandros didn’t look too pleased.

“You know him?” Vandros asked her discreetly, and she nodded in response.

“Heart,” Enrico greeted her with a smile and approached quickly.

“What happened to you? It’s been so long since I last saw you.”

“I got sick, that’s why. I was confined to the hospital.”

“Ah, that explains it,” he said, examining her. He seemed a bit under the influence of alcohol, but not too much.

“Excuse me, Enrico,” she said and gestured to Vandros to enter the elevator.

She felt nervous because what if Lux was with her and the two of them knew each other? She didn’t feel safe in that condo anymore. Lux needed to know everything so she could move out. Even a simple apartment would do, as long as no one could recognize her there.
