Chapter 31

"Hi, ma'am. It's time to go. Are you ready?" Kelvin asked me as he walked close to my bed but I was too stunned to speak.

Seeing that I didn't respond, he had to ask me again.

"Ma'am, Are you alright?"

Mum came to the rescue and yelled my name and this brought me back to the present.

"Drea! Why are you so lost in thoughts? Don't you want to go home anymore?" She asked.

"Home?" I asked, and sighed. "There's no home." I said under my breath and it was inaudible, so she could not hear it but Kelvin heard it.

"What did you just say?" She asked me.

"Nothing." I replied. "I'm ready to go." I added, and I got up from bed.

Mother looked at Father, who shrugged in confusion and they watched as I sluggishly walked to get my box.

"Don't worry, ma'am. I'll get that for you." Kelvin immediately said and picked up the box. He then walked to the door, opened it and led the way out of the room while my parents and I followed closely behind him.
