Chapter 41

I stared hopelessly at Sorin, who walked back into the bathroom, leaving me on the floor to pick myself up. A trickle of tears escaped my eyes, I soon began to cry, still sitting on the floor.

Soon, I heard a knock on the door,

"Ma'am? Are you alright?" The voice called out, from outside the room.

I could not answer immediately because I didn't want the person to hear me crying.

Excuse me, ma'am, are you in there?" The female voice asked again.

I wiped my tears and cleared my throat before responding,

"Yes, I am. I am fine too." I said in a rush because the tears were about to start flowing again.

"But you just screamed now. Are you sure you are fine?" The voice asked once again, to be sure I was truly fine.

"Yes, I am. Thank you." I answered.

"Okay, if you need anything, I'll be downstairs." She said and I heard her footsteps getting fainter by the second, signifying that she was walking away.

The moment I didn't hear the footsteps anymore, I crawled to the bedside and curled myself
