(Evy's Point Of View)

Every blow, every unwelcome touch, every insult flashed before my eyes like a rerun of the wretched existence I used to live, making my stomach churn and my heart incinerate. It stings!

The pet name ran through my thoughts like a soothing symphony I wanted to hear for the rest of my life. My eyes opened on their own, revealing a pair of wary and worried-filled silver orbs staring down at me. Suddenly, the pain in my heart vanished, and it was replaced with warmth and tranquility.

"Baby, come here," He didn't ask if I was alright because he knew I wasn't. I giddily complied and rolled on his chest, and his arm around my waist and drew me close. When he kissed my head, I hummed. "Would you like to talk about it, baby?"

I closed my eyes, considering whether or not to tell him, and before I could react, he beat me to it.
