Put Up A Good Fight

Cayden did not know why the sudden need to see Wyoming grip his innards hard. All he knew was that Wyoming’s sad voice had him in a state of panic that he would jump up at the chance to be with her in her hour of need.

After a good fifteen minutes of barrelling through the highway with his black BMW, his worried face appeared on Wyoming's doorstep causing Wyoming to launch herself into his waiting open arms.

Cayden cupped the back of her head to burrow her face into his massive chest before he circled his arms around her, squeezing tight, offering comfort. Not a word passed between them while he rocked her back and forth.

Wyoming was deeply touched by his show of concern. She was not expecting him to show up on her doorstep, or go out of his way to be with her, but he did. It seemed to her as if he knew intuitively how badly she needed company right after her discovery.

Her heart swelled with gratefulness. She tilted her head, feeling an unexpected warmth surge through her.
