CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

The young man was quite the joker. He kept cracking jokes and teasing me in a friendly way, and I found myself laughing along with him. At one point, he even winked at me, and I had to fight the urge to blush. But despite his playfulness, I could tell that there was something more to him.

As we chatted, my kids were watching us. I saw their curious expressions, but they stayed silent. I wondered what they were thinking about this new person who looked really like Aiden. At some point, I began to wonder if it was Aiden who was playing games with our minds.

But, the maids acted as though they knew him from the unset. Yet, it was still possible that he had bribed them even before she came back from the coffee shop. Was this some kind of payment or revenge for leaving?

"So, I hear you're an excellent cook. I've heard that your soufflé is to die for," He teased me and watched as I burst into laughter, my eyes crinkling at the corners.

"You're such a goofball.
