Chapter 5

“I desire to hear the sound of your zipper as I unzip it,” I said as I took a step towards him. There was now barely any room between us. “And then, I want your pants to hit the floor. How does that sound to you, Mr. Rivera?”

He sucked in a deep breath and then lifted the side of his mouth into the sexiest grin I had ever seen. And I knew he was on board.

The man was something else. Kai Rivera was actually a widower. His wife died only a few years after they were married. They had met in high school and gone to the same university. Her dream was to go into politics and he wanted to move away from it. But somehow they worked perfectly for one another.

It would seem like they were a match made in heaven.

Now, I knew a lot about Kai as a man. I had watched footage of him before and after he had become a successful businessman. And some things became evident quickly.

He was an affectionate man. Past tense. Kai has handsy. From their photos from high school and college, it was especially evident that he adored her. The way he looked at her spoke volumes.

But also, in many photos where they were together, he was doing more than holding her hand. His arm would be around her, holding her close. His lips were often in her hair or on her cheek or temple. They were clearly in love.

The photos taken of him after her death made the point undeniable. He looked sad and closed off like he had lost a part of his soul. Since he became so successful, he had been seen with a couple of women but the spark was not there. One woman had been a colleague.

From the photo, it seemed like the relationship was not romantic from his side, but the woman wanted more. Some women, he would be closer to, but in no time, I could see that his hands were back in his pockets as he distanced himself from them.

This led me to believe that Kai Rivera was a very lonely man who craved affection. And I was up for the job.

I was close enough to feel the heat of his body. He smelled fresh and I could see that his hair was still damp from showering. This made me question his attire. He had dressed up from me but also let himself go a little.

Despite my words, I wasn’t sure the zipper was the first choice. I wanted to touch him.

I reached forward, taking his glass, and placed it on the bar. I wanted his hands free. He seemed to be looking down at my… dare I say it myself, exquisite cleavage.

I bit my lip to hide the amused smile and slowly dragged my finger down his arm and to his wrist. I picked it up and deposited it slowly on my breast, waiting to see his reaction.

His hand sent a wave of warmth throughout my story, right down to the pit of my stomach. My heart was about to leap out of my chest. And all of this from the limp touch of his hands. He had not even taken the initiative to touch me yet.

I felt a little nervous that he wouldn’t want to take initiative, mostly because I had only theoretical knowledge of what to do.

“Can I ask you a question?” I asked hesitantly.

His eyes flickered up to mine. He licked his lips before nodding.

“Do you actually want to do this?” I asked.

“I have been staring at your almost nude body for the better part of a few minutes. What do you think?” he replied.

I nodded, feeling stupid for asking, but this was the first question that would lead to the main one.

“Well then… when was the last time you were with a woman?” His eyes widened, surprised again at my forwardness.

“I would just say that it’s none of your business.”

I hummed. “Kai,” I began softly. “I’m here for one reason. If we are going to enjoy our time together, I want to make sure that I know what I am up against. Now, if it has been quite a while, I don’t want to make you wait too long and make you miserable. Now, if it's a regular thing… then I can take my time with you.” I smiled.

“This isn’t a regular thing for me,” he interrupted. His hand was still on my chest. I felt his fingers twitch… as if he really wanted to stretch them and really feel.

“It’s been a while, then.” He nodded. “Okay.” I took his hand in mine and turned, taking a step away from him and towards the lounge. “Come with me, Mr. Rivera.” I smirked over my shoulder as I gave him a glimpse of my ass.

I stood in front of the lounge, pointing to where I wanted him. “Sit.”

Kai took in a deep breath and then sat. His hands were by his side.

“I don’t often find myself in a situation where I am not sure how to proceed,” he said, looking up at me through his dark, long lashes. I could only imagine it would be difficult for a man with his power to show so much vulnerability.

I stepped in between his legs, standing above him, hands on my hips. He was one of the most powerful men in the world. But right at that moment, I felt like I held all of the power.

“Well, will you be leaving it to me or take control, Mr. Rivera?” I asked.

“Rose, I would let you be in control…” he began softly. “But it’s not up to me. I like being in control and I can’t help it.”

All the vulnerability was gone. His hands slowly lifted to the back of my knees. He caressed the skin there a few times before firmly tugging them forward.
