Chapter 16

Mel's heart was pounding in fear as she sat in the cab, her eyes darting around anxiously as they approached the SLE clubhouse. Since she received the distress call from Maya, she was left wondering what was wrong as she hurried to the Club. The cab finally came to a stop and she stepped out of the cab. She made her way towards the entrance of the clubhouse where she saw Maya leaning on a pillar, looking disorganised and out of it.

Mel hurried over to her and made her sit down, her friend's slurry words barely registering

"I don't know...I feel weird...someone gave me something," she mumbled.

Realising that her friend had been drugged, Mel began to panic "Hang in there, she said gently shaking her friend's arm. Don't fall asleep, okay? We need to keep you awake."

But despite Mel's efforts, Maya's eyes slowly begins to close.

Just then, Leo emerged from the club and approached them. Mel glared at him, her instincts telling her that this man was trouble.
