Charlotte stormed into his office, her face seething with anger. However, Lucas seemed entirely unperturbed as he was engrossed in his documents, completely oblivious to her presence.

She stood there, studying him intently and simultaneously scanning his office for any clues that would indicate whether he and Vanessa had something going in the office, but to no avail.

Frustration only mounted as she clenched her fists and continued to stare at him, questioning if the kiss they shared had any significance to him. Was everything he said to her last night just a ploy to lead her on? Tears threatened to spill as she struggled to find the answers.
