Harboured suspicions

For a brief moment, Charlotte struggled to evade his gaze as Lucas approached her in close proximity. She could feel his breath against her face, sending a wave of emotions coursing through her body.

“Sir…” She gasped.

Fearful that Lucas had discovered her true identity, she braced herself for the worst.

But before she could utter a word, Lucas unexpectedly loosened the band holding her hair, causing it to cascade over her shoulders.

Puzzled and taken aback, Charlotte stammered, "Sir.....what are you doing?"

Without a word, Lucas silenced her and instructed, "Stay still."

Frozen in place, Charlotte's heart raced as she avoided his piercing gaze. She couldn't make sense of his actions.

With a dismissive wave, Lucas released her from his grasp and returned to his desk.

Realizing she was dismissed, Charlotte promptly gathered her cleaning supplies and departed as ordered. As she walked down the hallway, her mind raced, wondering if Lucas had uncovere
