Fated to meet again

EVE’S POV

“We’re here, Madam,” The driver’s voice reached my ears.

I glanced out of the window at the entrance of the hospital he had parked before. I was no stranger to a place like this. It certainly wasn’t my first time here and unfortunately, I didn’t think it would be my last visit either. 

I looked away from the hospital, tugging at my sleeve to hide a bruise that was healing on my hands. Tom had taken a look at it that morning and told me to go to the hospital and see the family doctor. He was probably repulsed by the result of his handiwork.

“Madam,” The driver called, a straight look on his face.

I didn’t want to go in there. I didn’t want to see the doctor. I would rather just curl up in a deep dark cave and hide myse
