Chapter 22

"Sir, I've completed and organized all the reports. Is there anything else I should do after this?" Arianna asked while she was in Samuel's office.

"Nothing else. I'll check each one later. Thank you for your help."

"If that's it, I'd like to leave a bit early today. I have permission to visit the orphanage, and I might be back late."

Arianna intentionally focused on finishing her work at the office throughout the day. Not having seen her siblings and foster mother for a while, she planned to visit them after work.

As her current status was Samuel's wife, Arianna needed to ask for permission. Just in case, so Samuel wouldn't look for her if she came home late.

"I'm afraid not," Samuel replied. He stopped typing on his laptop keyboard, raised his face, and looked at Arianna intently. "I won't allow you to go out tonight."

Arianna immediately frowned. She was ready to voice her protest, but she refrained from doing so, realizing she was in the office.
