Chapter Forty-eight.

I can't believe that this is happening to me. What just happened over there? How come I was disgraced like this? I know my mom won't take this trash, I know she would do something to pay back the shake we got.

When we got to the house. She was so quiet and couldn't make a statement. She moved to her room while I went to my room. I was waiting for her to say something but till the next day she never mentioned anything to me.

I wonder what will be going on in her mind. I felt ashamed to even look at my mom. I understand her pain but at the same time, we thought the dinner was in our favor, I never knew that such a thing would happen to me.

"Megan! Megan!" I could hear my mother shouting my name. My heart skipped. I wonder why she was calling my name that way. I rushed to her room to know what was wrong but I met her sitting down quietly and looking at the door without blinking.
