Chapter One Hundred & Eight

Lucas came beside Emma, his hand gently resting on her arm. "Emma, what's going on? Why are you so distraught?"

Emma gazed at the two men still talking, never for once looking at Lucas, her head shaking in a silent declaration. "I can't explain now. Please, wait here for me."

In an instant, Mr. Mario turned his back to Mr. Ethan, a storm of frustration etched on his face as he stormed towards the exit. Emma's heart sank, dread filling her as she tried to decipher what this meant for her.

Mr. Ethan rose from his seat, his actions composed and unhurried as he made his way to the front of the auditorium. With a quick gesture, he took the microphone from Trevor, his expression marred with a deep frown as he tapped it for attention.

"Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your undivided attention, please," his voice echoed through the speakers, confident and smooth. "I have an important announcement and correction to make."
