Chapter Thirty Eight

After several hours, a faint knock on the door made Emma emerge from her room, a tentative smile gracing her lips as she saw Lucas waiting at the entrance.

"Hey," she greeted, giving him a warm smile.

"Hi. I was thinking we could watch a couple of movies. I've already got snacks," Lucas shifted from one foot to the other, his hopeful gaze meeting Emma's.

"That sounds perfect. As long as you brought enough dark chocolates," she teased, allowing Lucas to take her hand and lead her to his room.

"You have no idea how much I've got," Lucas chuckled, his hold on her hand becoming firmer as they entered his room and he closed the door.
