Thirty Three

Nathan's POV

"What's the update?" I asked Sylvester after I got into his car. He'd called me hours ago to meet up at the parking lot of a popular tower building in town. I wasn't able to meet up immediately because one of our servers got a bug and I needed to fix it together with the team.

"Not even a hi or hello. Straight up to the real matter like a true Lancaster," he joked.

These days, I don't find anything funny so I didn't laugh.

"What's up?" I asked again.

"What's up your ass? Someone got on your nerves,"

"Not really, work's been hectic," I lied. "What are we doing here?"

"Well, some of my boys traced the girl who owned the phone down here because they thought she wanted to meet with someone,"

He stopped, took a bite from his hamburger.

"And?" I asked impatiently.

"She lurked around the corners for a while waiting for someone or so we thought but two hours later, she left,"

"Did she make any phone calls?"

He looked at me, then smirked. "Nah. She wasn't even with a phone,
