Sixty eight

Steph woke up to her phone beeping several times. She turned to the side of her bed and turned on the lamp.

She sat up straight in bed and picked up her phone. The sound wouldn’t let her sleep and it was starting to annoy her.

She looked at her phone and saw it was a message from Alex. It was a long text from him.

“I know I am probably the last person you want to here from but I have a few things to say and would appreciate if you would read till the end. I know things didn’t end well with us and if there is a way to go back in time and change even just one thing, I would change all that and the fact that I broke your heart. I still love you as much as I did the first time I said it to you, i and Luna are getting married in a few weeks and I wanted you to hear it from me first. Mother insisted it was the best thing to do. I know there is no explanation that can make any of this better but I hope you never forget that the love I have for you is real.”
